This activity helps participants explore qualities that enable adaptability and resilience in times of change. By reflecting on individuals who handle change well or struggle with it, participants can identify key factors that support or hinder flexibility.

    Ask participants to name three people they know or have heard of who manage change well.

    Instruct them to jot down the traits that make these individuals adaptable, setting a timer for 3 minutes.

    Next, ask them to think of three individuals who struggle with change.

  4. 4

    Have them list the characteristics that contribute to this rigidity, again giving them 3 minutes.

  5. 5

    Distribute a playing card to each participant, ensuring an equal number of black and red cards.

  6. 6

    Explain how the cards will later be used for discussion and grouping.

  • Encourage participants to choose a diverse range of individuals for richer insights.

  • Remind everyone that sharing identities of the chosen people is not necessary for group discussions.

  • Be prepared to facilitate a deeper conversation around the traits identified.
