How to run it

  1. 1

Draw a three-column matrix on a flip chart or whiteboard labeled WHO, WHAT, and WHEN.

  2. 2

Begin by listing the names of all participants in the WHO column.

  3. 3

Invite each participant to share their action steps for the group in the WHAT column.

  4. 4

For each action item, ask participants to specify a deadline in the WHEN column.

  5. 5

Ensure discussions focus on accountability, emphasizing the importance of commitments made in front of peers.

  6. 6

Close the session by reviewing the completed matrix together, highlighting key responsibilities.

Tips

  • Encourage open communication to help participants feel comfortable sharing their action items.

  • Keep the discussion focused and on track to avoid getting sidetracked.

  • Remind participants that their credibility is at stake, which can motivate them to follow through on their commitments.
