Duration
1h
Group size
5–8 people
Materials
Large poster or whiteboard, Pens, Sticky notes in two colors

How to run it

  1. 1

Before the session, draw a star on a large poster or whiteboard and write the focus topic in the center.

  2. 2

Around the star, list different aspects of the topic to discuss.

  3. 3

Distribute pens and two colors of sticky notes to participants.

  4. 4

For 5-10 minutes, have participants write what they like about each aspect on one color of sticky note.

  5. 5

For another 5-10 minutes, ask them to write what they dislike on the other color of sticky note.

  6. 6

Have participants present their notes and post them under the corresponding aspects on the board.

  7. 7

Cluster similar notes together, then discuss potential improvements or changes to address the dislikes.

Tips

  • Ensure clarity on what changes will be made to address dislikes, and assign tasks to specific individuals to maintain accountability.

  • This method is versatile and can be adapted for various audiences and contexts.
