Post-Up

Post-Up is a silent brainstorming technique where participants write ideas on sticky notes to encourage individual thought before group discussion. It's ideal for generating a wide range of ideas quickly and ensuring each participant's voice is heard.

Duration
10m–1h
Group size
1–50 people
Materials
sticky notes, pens, whiteboard

How to run it

  1. 1

Introduce the topic or question to be brainstormed and write it on a whiteboard.

  2. 2

Ask participants to silently write their ideas on individual sticky notes.

  3. 3

After a set period, have participants place their notes on the whiteboard.

  4. 4

Allow each participant to briefly present their ideas.

  5. 5

Encourage further ideas if inspired by others' contributions.

Tips

  • Ensure the question or topic is clear and open-ended to foster creativity.

  • Encourage participants to write one idea per sticky note for easier sorting and discussion.

  • Silence can be powerful in letting thoughts develop independently without influence from others.
