How to run it

  1. 1

Prepare a presentation explaining the Personal Strengths Matrix, emphasizing its various aspects.

  2. 2

Explain the different sections of the Matrix to the class, starting with strengths and ending with challenges.

  3. 3

Distribute the Matrices to every participant and ask them to fill it out honestly. If necessary, allow them to discuss their strengths with each other in small groups first.

  4. 4

Organize students into groups of about four, ideally matching them with their future project teams.

  5. 5

Have each group discuss their personal matrices to enhance familiarity with one another's strengths and weaknesses.

Tips

  • Encourage openness by fostering a supportive environment.

  • Use examples from your own strengths and weaknesses to guide the discussion.

  • Be available to assist students in identifying their strengths if they struggle.

Variations

This method can be adapted to focus on specific skills relevant to the upcoming project or to incorporate feedback after completion.
