How to run it

  1. 1

Divide participants into groups of 5 to 7 and have them sit at tables with a box of LEGO.

  2. 2

Instruct participants not to touch the LEGO until it's time to start.

  3. 3

Prepare individual assignments in advance for each participant.

  4. 4

Communicate the task: each group will construct a LEGO structure without discussing their assignments.

  5. 5

Allocate 20 minutes for building; note that no speaking is allowed during this time.

  6. 6

Distribute the assignments without revealing them to others.

  7. 7

Monitor time and announce when the building period is over.

Tips

  • Emphasize the importance of non-verbal communication during the building phase.

  • Encourage patience and creative problem-solving as participants navigate their secret roles.

  • Debrief after the activity to discuss insights and experiences.

Variations

Consider adjusting the building time or adding specific themes for the structures.
