How to run it

  1. 1

Ask participants to pair up with someone they don't know well.

  2. 2

Pose engaging questions such as 'What big challenge do you bring to this gathering?'

  3. 3

Allow each person 2 minutes to share their response.

  4. 4

Repeat for three rounds, encouraging participants to switch partners each time.

Tips

  • Ensure questions are specific enough to provoke meaningful discussion but open-ended to allow for diverse responses.

  • Use a bell or signal to smoothly transition between rounds.

  • Encourage participants to engage with people outside their usual circles.

Variations

Experiment with different questions to tailor the discussion to your session’s goals. Consider holding the activity outdoors for a change of scenery, or integrate it with social networking activities.
