How to run it

  1. 1

Ask participants to close their eyes and picture it's twenty years later with the project having achieved major success.

  2. 2

Have each person write a headline and draw an image for a feature in a major publication reflecting this future scenario.

  3. 3

Invite everyone to share their headlines and images with the group.

  4. 4

Facilitate a discussion on common themes that emerge and what they indicate for the present state of the project.

Tips

  • Encourage participants to think creatively and not limit themselves to what seems feasible today.

  • Emphasize the importance of visual elements; encourage sketches to enhance understanding.

  • Create a safe environment where all ideas are welcomed and valued.

Variations

You can adjust the time frame to ten or fifteen years and focus on a specific aspect of the project, like social impact or technological advancement.
