3 Question Mingle
This activity encourages participants to learn about each other through self-created questions. It promotes movement and interaction, making it ideal for early team development stages.
How to run it
- 1
Ask each participant to write three open-ended questions on separate post-its.
- 2
Provide examples of questions, such as: What skill would you most like to develop? Who do you admire? When have you laughed the hardest?
- 3
Instruct participants to mingle and meet one-on-one, spending one minute per interaction while asking one question at a time.
- 4
After swapping answers, participants exchange their questions with each other.
- 5
Encourage everyone to meet as many people as possible within the allocated time.
- 6
After mingling, display all questions on a flip-chart or wall for the group to see and use for future conversations.
Tips
Remind participants to be open and to listen actively during each exchange.
Encourage creativity in the questions to spark meaningful conversations.
Monitor the time to ensure everyone has the chance to mingle with many people.
Variations
You can incorporate themed questions based on team goals or current projects to add focus to the mingling.
